The Sarong, a bolt of cloth used in the Phillipines as an item of clothing, a baby sling, a bag, and a tool of self defense of last resort, is a very useful item. It is not a weapon, and therefore it can be carried anywhere.
Ron Balicki demonstrates a wide range of techniques, blocks, come alongs, and chokes, which can be used against unarmed and armed attacks. As always, Mr. Balicki is very thorough in his teaching and repeats all techniques multiple times, from different angles.
Although many people cannot carry a sarong on a daily basis, the same Mr. Balicki explains that a more narrow bolt of cloth, the malong, can be used to execute the same techniques. The malong is the size of the a man's neck tie; therefore, one can use an average neck tie in the same manner as the sarong and the malong.
Excellent video, as is the case with all Cold Steel instructional videos.
