Detailed Description
M3 Trench KnifeThe M3 Trench Knife was designed in 1943 to be issued to all U.S. soldiers in World War II that did not need a bayonet. Among nine manufacturers, H.Boker & Co., the U.S. subsidary of Boker, Solingen, also produced 31,300 of these knives. The original Boker M3's are now quite rare, and originals in good condition fetch can fetch $500 or more. That puts the original M3's out of range for most collectors, so Boker is offering this faithful reproduction of the original M3 Trench Knife. The blade is made of SK-5 high carbon steel and given a black finish. Each M3 includes a authentic M8A1 sheath. Each knife is individually serial numbered. Category End Use: Tactical Fixed Blade/Collectible Blade Steel: SK-5 High Carbon Steel Blade Length: 6.75" Length Overall: 11.75" Handle Material: Stacked Leather Sheath: M8A1 Weight Knife: 9.0 oz. I bought this on another site through Ebay for this same price, because I had forgotten about this great site for some time. Now I am back.
This knife is a great display piece with the sheath made in Germany, so the detail is perfect.
The blade and handle are perfect in every way, showing great care in the manufacturing of this knife system.
Soon I will buy another from Cutlery Shoppe, to add to the first one I bought. You can never have too many cool knifes, right?

I too found out the hard way how sharp this knife is right out of the box. Having several original military bayonets/knifes similar to this one (Springfield 1903 - 1 ea., M1 Garand - 3 ea., M1 Carbine 4 ea., M1A/M14 - 1 ea. and M16/AR-15 - 1 ea.) the M3 Trench Knife even through it is a reproduction is by far the best quality. Just a great knife.

I purchase one from this site several weeks ago...am amazed as to how sharp the blade is, trouble is that I found out the hard way! Great knife...nice sharp blade! Have several different Bayonets from WWI (Springfield 1903), WWII (M1 Garand & M1 Carbine), Korea (M1 Garand) and Vietnam (M14 & M16). Have numerous other knifes on this level from various manufactures and all are good knifes/bayonets but after buying the M3 Trench Knife I would put it at the top of the list.
