Detailed Description
Endura Trainer Trainers or drones are non-sharpened knives that allow for the safe practice of MBC (Martial Blade Craft). They let the user learn deployment/retrieval techniques, perform drills, and develop confidence and muscle memory without risking cutting themselves or others with a sharp blade. The Endura Trainer is identical in weight and size to the "live" model. To enhance the balance of the piece Spyderco has tapered the unsharpened tip and drilled holes through the blade, removing unnecessary bulk. Volcano grip texturing on both sides of the handle put the brakes on your hand slipping while training. All Spyderco training models have red handles designating them as non-sharpened. Right or Left handed tip-up carry. Another note: Endura trainers also fit the bill as a unsharpened practice knife to safely teach non-knife people the fundamental movements in safely opening and closing a folder. Blade Steel: AUS-6 Handle Material: Red FRN (Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon) Length Open: 8 7/8" (225mm) Blade Length: 3 5/16" (100mm) Length Closed: 4 15/16" (125mm) Hole Diameter: 15/32" (12mm) Blade Thickness: 1/8" (3mm) Weight: 3.0 oz. Spyderco is one of very few companies that manufacture quality drones. The Endura and Delica drones can be used as stand ins for most Spyderco knives. If you carry a knife as a weapon, especially a folder, training is essential. You need lots of practice in deploying your folder while under attack. You need to run FoF scenarios. You can't do that without a drone.
