Detailed Description

Chaparral - CTS-XHP Blade - Carbon Fiber Scales

Chaparral is a shrub native to the Western United States with the unique ability to perennially survive, revive and regenerate after being destroyed by drought or fire. Like a season it returns year after year. It's also what Spyderco calls a new and continuing series of gentlemen's folders.

Mid-sized Chaparral folders will have identical blade and handle profiles but showcase variant handle materials. Handle options will be chosen for their elegant appearance and functional utility with a focus directed at making the Chaparral series unique as well as a serious contender in the gent's knife genre. Possibly Spyderco's thinnest, lightest mid-sized CLIPIT yet, the debut Chaparral will have a carbon-fiber handle with a mid-positioned back lock and screw-together construction.

Attached to the ultra-slim handle, a left-right, tip-up clip arranges the knife deeply inside a pocket. FFG leaf-shaped CTS-XHP blade. The blade is ground full-flat and offered PlainEdged for the best available cutting performance with non-skid jimping located at both the spine and choil.

I received the Chaparral as a gift from my father in law this past Christmas and it is as nice to look at as it is to use. It's sized perfectly between and Dragonfly and a Delica with a thin blade that cuts like a laser beam on steroids. Mine came with a black clip which made it pretty much disappear in my pocket. If you're looking for an upscale carry knife that screams classy, the Chaparral is an excellent choice.
An ideal lightweight EDC

This baby will nearly disappear into the knife pocket on your jeans, but it's as versatile as it is unobtrusive. It fights well above its weight class.

This is the perfect EDC knife for me. Size, quality, fit, finish, & attention to detail are perfect. Between the twill CF handle and the S30V blade, it does get any better than this in this price range. Like always, CS has a price that just cant be beat!
