Nice looking chef's knife, although it is rather on the small and light side. For my uses, utility knife is a more apt expression for it. It'll do light chopping, slicing and may indeed replace the 2 smaller paring knives I've been using for those purposes. One of my old cooking teachers always used to try to dissuade me from using smaller knives, and he probably would like the idea of replacing those paring knives for any food prep, with this very well made Al Mar. I may soon have to replace my largest chef's knife, and do that with an 8" Al Mar as well. One last thing about the 6" utility knife. My wife thinks it's the perfect chef's knife for her.
